Kicking Horse Ski Resort

NEAREST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT/S (by road): CALGARY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 3.5hr

Kicking Horse is in central British Columbia. It is a newish resort and less well known, which is great for keeping crowds down. Formerly a heli-skiing area and now an advanced skier’s mountain paradise, with over 45% of black diamond runs and 15% double black diamond runs. Perfect dry powder and 1260 m of vertical drop will test the best. There are gentle runs for beginners or if you have simply come for the spectacular view and/or mountain top restaurant. However its designation as a home for serious skiing and snowboarding stands strong. Accommodation at the Kicking Horse ski resort is top end and quite expensive, but there is more affordable accommodation in the town of Golden (around 14km away) where you can ride a regular shuttle to Kicking Horse.
