Zermatt (Matterhorn) Ski Resort

Zermatt village sits impressively at the foot of the Matterhorn. It has a massive ski area of 8900acres with four ski areas (Gornergrat, Rothorn, Schwarzsee and Mattehorn Glacier Paradise). All are well interconnected by an extensive rail and lift network. Zermatt sits very high in the Swiss Alps providing patrons with some of the finest snow conditions in Europe. The terrain is varied with perfectly groomed runs, extensive off-piste areas, plus a snowpark for freestylers and snowboarders. The picturesque town is pedestrian friendly with a traditional feel, and a great range of restaurants, bars, and shops. Accommodation is mostly from the ‘very comfortable’ to ‘luxurious’ and priced accordingly. Cheap accommodation can be found away from central areas. Zermatt is one of Europe’s best.
